Recently one day suddenly we woke up to a hard fact. A Chief Minister of a state was missing while travelling in an helicopter. Two days later, the remains of the helicopter and the Chief Minister was found in a Jungle. Yes, I am talking about the sad demise of YSR, the Andhra Chief Minister.
The thought of such tragic, terrible and cruel death sent chillness in the spine. There are, however, many lessons to learn. For everyone, especially the politicians.
1. You cannot defy death - Yes. When time and the particular even comes, whatever precaution we take and however we try to save ourselves, we will be gone. Since you cannot defy death, why not make the time we are living, a pleasant one and not get into hurting everyone around with our self-centric thinking and behaviour (hey hey, heard about this many times over in various speeches - but I think it is worth emphasising).
2. No point in being obsessive with security - All politicians, howsoever big or small, is obsessed with having security around him. Y-plus, X-plus, Z-plus, T-plus......whatever plus or plus plus, when death calls, no plus can save you, whatever may be the situation. Why can't politicians start thinking that they can live as a simple human being without all these show offs? It is time, these people start to learn to have simple living and doing the best till s/he is alive and able.
3. How to react - There has been various reaction of disbelief, sympathy, fear, felling let-down, etc for various people when they heard of this news. It was interesting to see the reaction of the Government. They immediately announced to have more gadgets and devices in the vehicles allocated to the "VIPs" who are flying. Simply, additional unnecessary expenses of Tax payers money. I guess, if YSR would have resorted to fly in the normal regular airline, this incident may not have probably happened. Because, we hardly hear accidents of commercial aircraft. While we have heard so many small fighter planes and helicopters getting into accident. Can we also see the politicians (even if it is President of India) travel in normal vehicles without the requirement of common people suffering on their way? It is well known that if a "VIP" is travelling, the traffic is stopped for hours inconvenience one and all. Though there has been a talk to stop this at various points of time, our politicians jolly-well continue to go through the grind and have the pleasure of stopping the traffic for their movement.
4. "Security" is being taken too far by us - Besides all the security, YSR could not help simply facing a death with no one knowing it. What is the use of talking about so many security and spending enormous amount of money for that? The word 'security' is such a commonly used word, that it intrudes everything everywhere. If you call up a call centre, be it credit cards, mobile company or anything, the standard dialoge is "for security reasons".... Even if you want to ask a simple question of knowing some information, they will not divulge and that too in the name of security? What security? I don't know. It is all imaginery security. I think, we as human, should come out of the 'security syndrome' and start living a simple living. To me, Call Centre is the worst thing to happen to a customer. (will talk about this later).
During these times of recession, will the chief ministers, MPs, MLAs, like to be efficient with their expenses?
But what we hear. Government comes out with an order that the "babus" should now travel in economic class instead of business class. Great move. But there is a rider. The MPs are exempted to this rule. Why? Can't imagine a reason.
Let us hope, the politicians will now start realising that there is no point in adding plus level securities, but if you live a life of truth and fair, there is no need for any security....Gone are the days when a Chief Minister (Achutanandan) of Kerala used to travel in a bicycle to the assembly. Can we have those days back???????

M.A.T.H.S. - An Introduction
M.A.T.H.S. stands for Movement Against Thoughtful Hypocrisy in Society.
What is Thoughtful Hypocrisy? It is one that we have created a divergent thought of the same issue. When it comes to self...he is ok with it, but when it is for others, he has objections. For example.....We always grumble that policemen are corrupt. But when we are caught jumping the signal, first thing we try is to bribe him....at that time we want him to be corrupt. Why this double standards. If you keep thinking on our daily life, we will come across so many instances where we have double standars....we..each one of us.
This movement is targetting to get the people think in a positve way and have a paradigm shift in their thinking and approach. We would continuously have issues being discussed in this blog.

Look within yourself
It is important for each one of us to be like a human being....a good human being at that
M.A.T.H.S. (stands for Movement Against Thoughtful Hypocrasy in Society) wants every person to have a paradigm shift in his thought, approach and beliefs. Only then we can see a change in the society.
